We are thrilled to announce that Project Managers Without Borders (PMWB) is now part of PMI!

The integration with the Project Management Institute (PMI) opens unprecedented opportunities to scale PMWB’s impact, contributing to a better world through project success.

It's no coincidence that PMWB aligns seamlessly with PMI's purpose: We maximize project success to elevate our world. Currently, our focus is on the transition and integration process. We recognize that this change may bring about questions, and we want to assure you of our unwavering commitment to transparency and clarity.

While we may not have all the answers at this moment, we want to underscore our dedication to keeping you well-informed. Throughout the initial months of 2024, we will provide updates addressing key points that seek clarification for our valued partners, dedicated volunteers, regional communities, and donors. In the meantime, you can explore what we have already shared within our community.

If you have specific questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at info@PMWB.org.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued engagement and support. Stay tuned, as we eagerly anticipate sharing more details with you in the coming weeks. Together, let's embark on this exciting journey of growth and positive impact. Collectively contributing to positive change through impactful project management!

PMWB is excited about the incredible opportunity to join the world’s largest professional project management organization, PMI. As PMWB becomes an integral part of the PMI family, we are delighted to share that our founder, Deanna Landers, will continue to play a pivotal role in the journey.

Deanna will step into the role of Chairman of the Board for PMWB as a part of PMI, providing continued guidance and leadership. She will actively collaborate with the PMI operational team, led by Executive Director Dr. Ashley Forsyth, to facilitate a smooth transition.

The overarching goal is to preserve the key attributes that have fueled PMWB’s success in enhancing the capacity of nonprofit organizations and NGOs. We remain committed to empowering them with sustainable project management processes, tools, and solutions. By integrating best practices from PMI Chapters applying project management in the Social Impact space, we aim to amplify the impact for all!

Through this strategic partnership, we will extend the reach of our initiatives, ensuring that the benefits we provide to our partners are maximized through direct project management applications. Our vision is to solidify PMI as the leading organization dedicated to making the world a better place through the transformative power of project management.

There are no plans to make immediate changes associated with our currently active projects, and we will continue to deliver on our commitments to clients/partners, and support our volunteers as we always have.

However, we do expect to have access to more volunteers and skill sets to apply to potential future projects with current and future NGO and non-profit partners.

We look forward to sharing exciting news about these developments soon.

PMWB is always happy to foster meaningful conversations with potential clients. We are enthusiastic about understanding your mission and exploring how we can contribute to its success in a more efficient and effective manner with the help of project management.

As we navigate through this transition, we remain open to initiating a limited number of projects. Please see here for a request for an introductory conversation and information.

PMWB’s strength lies in the contributions of our volunteers, driving the positive impact we make in the world through project management.

As a part of the transition, PMWB volunteers will now seamlessly transition to become PMI volunteers. This integration not only strengthens our collaborative spirit but also opens new avenues for our dedicated volunteers.

Active volunteers will be contacted with information detailing the administrative transition process. New and exciting volunteering opportunities will be available within PMI’s Volunteer Engagement Platform (VEP), offering a dynamic space to explore and engage.

Everyone with a PMI Profile has a VEP Volunteer Profile, whether a PMI member or not. Select Project Managers Without Borders in your Volunteer Profile to be notified when new PMWB opportunities arise.

By aligning with the proven processes and systems offered by PMI, we aim to create increasingly exciting opportunities for all our volunteers. The commitment of our volunteers to make the world a better place through project management is highly valued, and we are dedicated to providing a platform that enhances that impact.

We are embarking on a groundbreaking journey to define and initiate a pilot concept to incorporate the PMWB communities within the dynamic framework of PMI Chapters. This innovative collaboration aims to synergize the best practices of PMWB with the successful strategies employed by PMI Chapters, fostering improvements that can be shared more broadly with PMI Chapters across the world.

We anticipate the initial pilot phase to unfold over the next few months. We are dedicated to distilling valuable insights and crafting refined best practices and a continuous feedback and improvement loop that will be shared globally with PMI Chapters later this year. This collective knowledge transfer ensures that the advancements we make together can positively influence project management communities worldwide.

By partnering closely with PMI Chapters, we are not only shaping the future of project management but also applying our collective project management skills directly to address global challenges. Together, let’s elevate our world through the power of collaboration, innovation, and impactful project management!

Amidst our transition process, new partnership opportunities will emerge, spanning realms such as research, innovation, training, events, and more. These possibilities will unfold through collaborative discussions conducted during the transition period.

As we navigate this transformative phase, diverse operating models for various areas and businesses will be meticulously reviewed and defined. These discussions are not only essential for shaping our future but also for identifying strategic partnerships that will bring added value to the PMWB community.

Throughout this transition, we are committed to understanding the legal and procedural requirements that govern successful alliances. Our goal is to establish relationships that are mutually beneficial, generating significant value for our community.
