The goal of the Samilpamba potable water project in Ecuador is to
re-design and construct an improved potable water distribution
system for over 130 community members.
The system in place today was constructed over 25 years ago
through a French non-profit.
The key objectives are to :
- Dramatically improve the quality of water being collected at the 4 spring sources,
- Increase distribution of the water and efficiency with new pressure break tanks, and
- Complete replacement of piping to PVC and repair the 23/29 non-functioning potable water taps.
In addition, education will be provided on extra layers of water
filtration methods at the taps.
The trip to Ecuador to complete the potable water project was
scheduled for April and was cancelled due to COVID-19.
